May, 2000 - It all started innocently enuff, with Thor looking to borrow a helmet for SAABCON 2K track events...

Thor:

Subject: Snell 95 Helmet needed
For SAABCON track events at Lime Rock.
If anyone's willing to lend me a Snell SA 95 helmet for July 5 and 6, please contact privately.
X-large head.

Ywan:

Will they allow the BFH? It IS a special occasion after all.
I've seen a pic of it on Phil, so I KNOW it's at least X-Large.
You do have a sunroof?
That opens?

Well, yes. And yes, yes and yes.
But carbon dating has revealed the BFH only has a (circa) Snell SA 965 rating and there "was" that episode with the iguana and nobody knows exactly what was crawling around in Lacefield's headsock anyway...

Phil:

Oh trust me, the BFH is XXXXXL enough to simultaneously fit my gigantic head, a whole herd of milk goats, two blonde buxom Norwegian beauties, a small green iguana and a six pack of ICB Root Beer...all the fixins for a fun night out on the town, let me tell you.

But please, don't ask about the iguana. It's, um, personal.

Phil again:

Look, I said it was personal. You people just don't get it, do you ? Hmph.
See if I ever let YOU wear the BFH.

Phil (now wishing he hadn't mentioned the Iguana Incident...)
